Luke 12:22-34

Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Today has been a day that makes this passage so important.
A dear friend of mine that I grew up with got some terrible news Friday. She and her sweet fiance have been planning their wedding for June 4th. They have been expecting a baby for a few months, but Friday they were told that something went wrong and the baby was lost. This kind of news hit me hard. I grew up with Rebekah and even when she moved to North Carolina, she and I still remained friends. I know that she and her fiance were so happy to start this journey in their lives, and for it to be stopped so abruptly is heartbreaking. God has more knowledge and wisdom than we do, though. He has plans for that couple that are great and rewarding, the road to get there is just difficult. My prayers, and I hope yours too, are going out to them and their families during this time.
I also found out today that another friend I grew up with, Emily, is engaged! It's that time in our lives where EVERYONE is starting to progress to the next step. It makes me so happy to see all of my friends getting engaged and starting their own little families. I know that Emily is so happy, what newly engaged girl wouldn't be?! I have a bridal shower to attend Sunday, also. Wedding season is among us, ladies and gents!
Tomorrow, I have an interview with JoS. A Bank. FINALLY someone contacted me. I am beyond hopeful that this job will fall through for me, let's hope and pray!

Pinning and Searching

All I've been doing lately is job searching and pinning on Pinterest. The latter, of course, is more fun than the first. Summer should kick off once all of my friends get done with their final exams this week. My boy has started his month of business trips with his new internship. He is mighty fancy, that's for sure! So with him being gone and majority of my friends doing finals, I've been getting ideas for decor in my house for August.
I've got an old door that my mom bought from an antique place, and I've yet to decide what to do with it. I've thought of making a desk, a scarf hanger and more...but today I was on Pinterest (of course) and found this:

How creative! This is such a wonderful idea, and I found it on *junkrestore* blog and I am absolutely IN LOVE.
I also found these lovely little things via Pinterest, on Etsy:

Looks like my mom has a new crocheting job for the summer...lots and lots of pillows!
Well, I'm going to get back to watching House Hunters International, my new summer obsession.

Homelife

Being home is always a great thing. I've missed home so much this year, I don't know why it is different from last year. I think I have just been missing the ability to enjoy doing nothing. Of course, I also missed my parents. When school was done, a lot of my friends complained about going home to their parents, I was over-joyed! I don't understand how so many students do not want to go back home!
Home, so far, has been great. Mainly because I have done nothing for school and it feels absolutely wonderful. I've been on a job hunt for the past few days, so far nothing but I have a few good leads! I've got to get $6,000 by next summer. The voice teacher recommends I attend a voice summer session in Italy, and I don't hate the idea at all! Why would I not want to be around this:

B-E-A-U-TIFUL! Any donations would be greatly appreciated. It's for the arts ;)

God's Blessings

I sit here typing this post during one of the most important times of U.S and World History. Osama Bin Laden was just killed by U.S Troops. It is hard to enjoy this time, because I have such mixed feelings. I am happy because this man who ruined so many lives is now dead, but I am sad because a man was killed and is in Hell because of the way he lived his life, fruitless and faithless. The death of Osama will be celebrated on May 1st from now on, and the 9/11 victims and family members can now rest in peace and comfort.
Today was beautiful. I went to church this morning, the first time I have been to my home church since December. I most definitely miss Pinelake Starkville! I had a nice lunch with my parents at home. After months of college food (mainly Chick-fil-a and other OBVIOUSLY healthy food fried groups) home cooking is a beautiful thing! I had a nice nap afterwards, also something I haven't had in a few months due to college. This afternoon I went to visit my sweet grandmother and grandfather and they fed me some good dessert, as usual. I had a nice walk afterwards at Ballard with my parents, I had to walk off that pound cake, homemade whipped cream and sweetened strawberries (sorry, no pictures...I ate it too quickly)!
It was such a beautiful day for a walk!

I'm off to bed with CNN and C-Span playing the celebrations of this triumphant win for U.S.A and other affected countries; praise the Lord and God Bless America!
